Have you ever been stuck in the process of finding the right type of product for your team? With all of the different brands and companies to choose from, the decision can be exhausting. Before placing your next team order, answer these 5 simple questions.
- Does the company have good customer service?
This is not always easy to discern, but a good starting point is the company’s website reviews. Facebook, Google and a few other sites will tell you everything you need to know about the company. If they don’t have at least a 4-star rating, you might want to stay away.
- Are the products quality?
This too can be difficult to know unless you actually place an order. However, most qualified companies are more than happy to provide samples of their products at no charge. Ask for one! That way you know exactly what you’re getting. If you don’t have time to get a sample, just revert back to point #1. Reviews are usually pretty reliable.
- Are setup costs included in the price?
Usually there are set-up charges for both screen printed and embroidered items. Some companies include these costs in the price, while others just quote them out separately. Always make sure to read the fine print. It will clue you in on any hidden costs or fees.
- Are shipping costs included?
Most hard goods in the sporting goods industry (equipment, inflatables and similar) have shipping costs. There are a handful of items that you can get from Amazon with free freight, but the majority of hardgoods will have some sort of freight costs associated with them. However, don’t ever pay shipping for apparel. As long as you order 12 or more, you should get free freight on every single order!
- What is the turn time?
Industry standard is 2-4 weeks for basic screen printing and embroidery. Adding individual names and numbers can often add a week or so. If you’re looking for fully sublimated custom uniforms, 6-8 weeks is the norm. There are a few companies out there like ours that offer a shorter 4-6 week window for custom uniforms.
